Ricoh GXR infrared conversions and samples

Hi

Here are some samples from Infra Red converted Ricoh GXR S10, A12 28mm, 50mm units. Also a couple of photos taken from Fuji Xe1 converted to LTFS (Luminous Tone Full Spectrum), this conversion has no filters at all, basically a naked sensor recording black and white photos, note the luminosity, detail in the shadows and blacks, results appear similar to Leica M monochrome like FP4 film days......!

I am very impressed by the B/W IR rendering.
It seems to work exceptionally well with little IR hint in some images.

I had a look at Rob's site and have it bookmarked to revisit later.
His review of the GR a good read and very positive.

If you are talking about the filters that were present in front of the CMOS sensor of Fuji Xe1, then yes, they are all gone and removed, so you are left with an absolutely naked sensor with nothing in front, hence the camera now is able to record the whole of EM (electromagnetic) spectrum giving you the details in the shadows and luminosity in the dark blacks as you can see, film like results for black & white photography....comparable to the dedicated Leica M monochrome camera model.

Similar results are also possible with Leica M mount of Ricoh GXR camera, by removing all the filters in front of the sensor. These are the purest forms of LTFS (Luminous Tone Full Spectrum) conversions. Such a converted tool is capable of recording UV, B&W, IR and normal colour photography, by threading the appropriate wavelength filter in front of the lens in use. If you do not wish to thread any filter then you are left with a unique tool comparable to the dedicated Leica M monochrome camera model.
