Ricoh GRD II defaults to text capture mode

Hello,

Forgive me if this is a case of 'user error', but somehow my GRDII always seems to start up in 'text capture' mode. I have to do quite a bit of messing around (switching through P,A,S,M, turning macro on/off) to recover it.

Any ideas why?

Hi John,

I believe there are two possible reasons of this behavior...

1) The mode dial is switched in the Scene mode and last time you used Scene mode, you played with Text mode (so it's now set as default Scene mode)?
2) Last time you played with Scene/Text mode, you saved it in to "My Settings" and the Mode dial is now set to My1/2?

In case of 1) simply turn the mode dial to another mode. In case of 2) you have either to use another mode, or replace the My Settings with something else than Scene mode. Hope this helps?

That seems to have done the trick- went to scene, set it to a normal pic mode, then registered the settings.
