Red Car, Red Cafe -- It was just on dusk, I was following (running to catch up) my family to dinner and I turned to my left to see this near exact colour match between the car and the cafe walls and grabbed the image in an instant. It would have been lost if the camera had not been both in my hand and powered up - some scenes are only there for an instant. Note the street does have a slight incline.

Good catch! The white car in front of the cafe is nice contrast. How do you like LX3?

Pavel,
I bought the LX3 with the idea to also get a GX200 and trial both but never got around to getting a GX200. I have had the LX3 for about 18 months now.
The LX3 I find a good workhorse image maker. It works well at kids birthday parties, the zoom range and bright lens is exactly what you need and it gets images without using the flash - the 720p video mode gets used occasionally.

Some find the control/buttons too small and fiddly and while that would be an issue for some its not a problem for me. About the biggest annoyance is the lens cap. I am spoilt with the shutter lens cap on the GRD III.

IQ wise I am not a fan of the LX3 lens distortion that is corrected in software. It does work though but strangely I think BW jpg from the camera images suffer from the distortion I feel - I know it sounds crazy but I don't like the out of camera BW jpgs from the LX3 at all. Somehow I don't seem to see the same problem in colour files?

I tend to carry my GRD III with the LX3 and sometimes subsitute the DP2 for the LX3. The GRD never seems to get left home.
