Raw photo on Dxo Optics Pro

botrem

New Member
Hello,

with my Ricoh gr iv, i have a lot of raw photos : dng.

Is not possible to open the ricoh dng directly on Dxo Optics Pro 9.

I have tried to convert dng to universal dng with Adobe DNG converter. But same problem.

Someone tried with success to finally treat a raw ricoh with DXO ?

Tnx,

botrem

Hi botrem,
I have no experience with DXO, but can say that I have had no problem with Ricoh DNG files with any of the software I have used in the past. This includes Silkypix, various Adobe products, and Google Picassa. Not much help to you though, sadly... :(

Hello,

tnx for all replies.

With ACR or LR it's ok, but i don't have ...
I like Dxo interface and tools. I use with other photo euipment.
I have bought a refurbished Ricoh gr iv and Silkypix are not included on the box.

botrem

A light version of Silkpix was included with some Panasonic cameras.
I don't ever recall any of the Ricoh's being bundled with it?

Yes, at least for the GR. I think even my old GX100 had it too...

On the various forums and indications: the content of the original Ricoh boxes, the Silkypix 3.0 LE for Ricoh is included. I think it was free version.
Now, only updates are available to download, but more basis LE 3.0.
Does someone would be kind enough to send me a copy of the original Ricoh CD ?

Thank you very much.

Hello,

i have tried command line dcraw program. It's able to open a Ricoh GRD raw DNG files.
Results are excellent. The tiff converted photo is ready to be opened on DXO.

My commands for Ricoh GRD IV :

Convert to tiff 16bits , with camera white balance, AHD adaptive algorithm, sRGB output profile

dcraw-9.19-ms-64-bit -v -d -r 1 1 1 1 -T <input DNG file>
Detect malfunction in the camera sensor or individual anomalous pixels. Maximise zoom ...

I still have a GR IV and the original box. I can see NO CD at all - I dont think there ever was one, Ricoh's own site says this -- http://www.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/english/products/gr-digital4/at_gr4.html
The GRD IV brochure at the top of the last page also does not indicate a CD - http://www.ricoh.com/r_dc/support/brochure/pdf/gr_digital4.pdf

Accessories Included
A rechargeable battery, a battery charger, a USB cable, an AV cable, a hand strap, and the Camera User Guide
<- this last one is a printed guide.

While I can agree the GR comes with Silkypix, the GRD IV did not, at least not in my case!
When I mentioned GRDs not coming with Silkypix I was referring to earlier models than the GRD IV - sorry for the confusion.
I can't see it came with the GX100 either? - http://www.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/english/r_dc/caplio/gx100/specs.html#03

A suggestion for a free RAW processor is to look at RawTherapee - http://rawtherapee.com/
(Note: I find RawTherapee needs a decent amount of computer power and is a little unstable.)
Some Linux users use Darktable - http://www.darktable.org/

Hello Tim,

about Sikypix, maybe it's included only on old GRD II or III, and not on IV.

Tnx or list of raw processors, rawtherapee, darktable, ufraw and other.
All are based on dcraw or libraw.

On my previous post i have tested dcraw on command line and i happy with this solution.

Regards,

botrem
