On these two screens you can see the difference in antiglare coating.

R8 does not have the R7 LCD coating. Pity, because it seems to me that it helps on direct sunshine, with side viewing angles and also with colors. Here is the practical example:

Here is a practical example of R8 high resolution LCD. It's definitely a great helper mainly if you are a macro shooter.

In R7, there was a feature allowing to enlarge entire screen in manual focus mode. R8 adopted the GRDII way of enlarging only the central part of the screen. In my opinion, it's much better solution, because you can still maintain the overall composition.

R7 shows slightly larger viewing angles and brighter colors. But R8 resolution is superior. I would gladly sacrifice such a tiny bit of viewing angles in favor of higher resolution, which is great in manual focus mode.
