Pond Life

Decided to have a more serious relationship with my GXR and A12 50mm some tie back. Snapped these whilst enjoy a little sun at the edge of a pond in an Italian garden...the A12 macro unit really rocks, in my humble opinion! :D

Lovely! Thanks for encouraging me to buy a GXR A12 50 Andy and I guess that we all wish Ricoh had stuck to the concept - I want a A12 80.

That second one is really stunning.
I wonder if Ricoh will surprise at Photokina....I see that the GXR + 50 can still be purchased new for about a thousand dollars.

Nice shots, Wiener. A pity that Ricoh are so neglecting their treasures ...

The damselfly, by the way (in case you shouldn't know already), looks like Erythromma viridulum, the "small red-eyed damselfly" ("Kleines Granatauge" in German, which sounds much more lyrical  ).
Could you eventually show the tip of the abdomen in higher resolution?

cheers - rikiki (in smart-arse mode today)

The Small Garnet eye sounds much more romantic than the boring old Latin name...and as a part time Wiener, every little drop of German is appreciated! :)

No sooner asked, but done!

Nothing wrong with a little smart-arse, now and then... ;)
Cheers!

Hi quester,
that is still a lot of money...I think it shows that Ricoh is still understandably proud of there nice wee creation! And as Richard mentioned elsewhere,
the lens hood is brilliant!
