Next stop Antarctica

This image was taken facing south on a small island called Granite Island south of Adelaide in the township of Victor Harbour.

If you sail South from here there is no land mass and Antarctica is the next stop over the ocean!

Tim, this looks a great image but I think it needs some treatment by way of some contrast to bring out some of those rock textures an' all. The image looks a little flat at the mo'. :)

I was trying out Capture One again, I will have to rety some tweaks, but I agree, there is a lack of detail and contrast on the rocks.

Tim, this seems to be a fantastic location for a "hour/light" study. It's not only a question of contrast, for me. The rocks and sea are powerful, but I imagine this view with some more dramatic light. Maybe the clouds can help a little more to had dinamics and drama too? Do you live near the place?

rui, I am about 1 - 1 1/2 hours away but its a popular holiday place and we will likely be back there soon - I will try for a better time of day when we are there next. The image was taken on a small island Granite Island next to the township of Victor Harbour and the island is accessible via a walkway over the ocean. Horse drawn carts cross all day. Here is a google map of the location.. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source= ... iwloc=addr

Tim, you live "near" a place I'de love to visit since a kid - Tasmania :D

You're not so close to the island to stay there and wait for the right moment, the kind of moment we see photographed by the "masters" (those who stay indefenetely in a place, just waiting like a hunter). But maybe you can be lucky enough too ;)

I just saw the fire map  . Your'e near the area, aren't you? How are thiings going there? Hope your'e safe

I was about to ask the same? Adelaide seems to be few hundred miles away from the fires, but still... Are your family and friends OK?

Pavel, rui, my family are mostly in Adelaide, and its several hundred miles from the affected areas.

My wife however has a cousin who lives at Kinglake in Victoria, fortunately our cousin and his house survived, but his neighbors house did not.

We are keeping all these people affected in our prayers.
