New GX200 User

Hi there!
I'm Gary from Israel, recently me and my wife bought Ricoh GX200 camera and we are very pleased! We are not professional photographers but we travel a lot and we wanted to have a serious compact camera to memorize our trips. So, after not so quite small research, we decided to go for the GX200.

Currently we are using the auto mode and learning other capabilities of the camera...

Yesterday we traveled to Ramon crater in the Negev desert, there we climbed the Erdon mountain (702m).
I personally, love panoramic pictures, here is an example of a panoramic picture that I composed using panorama maker 4 (free license). The picture is composed of three pictures.

Welcome Gary.
I am a relatively new user as well to the GX200.
I found some nice tips on here by reviewing the forums to help improve the quality of the photos and adjust my settings.
Like you I wanted a compact camera with lots of flexibility and am still learning the features....

Hi Garik and welcome here! Nice panorama. I personally don't shot panoramas much. But you did it well. BTW, if you are in testing phase of the various panoramic programs, I would suggest you to try HUGIN...

I'll try the software but I wont promise a thing. I must say I was very impressed by Panorama Maker 4, I took three shots without tripod, using only the grid display. At first I tried to use the Panorama Perfect software but it was very difficult to stich the photos.
What you see is a product of auto stiching, all I did was to add borders and title, no more! Moreover, when I had to select the photos to stich, the program recognized automaticly, as I choose the first photo, the other ones... Pretty impressive if you ask me.
