I remember there was a string of postings where people related which cameras they had owned.
I missed out on that thread, but decided to post my first one here!
However, the DOF is not sufficently deep for tack-sharp lens lettering...so I will try again with the P10 when I have that mythical 'bored moment'!

Andy,

This brings back memories, I once owned a Minolta XE-5, one camera that I still regret selling :(

This was my first one (6*6 cm, roll film -- or a similar model) -- demonstrating how old I am...
Best regards, Gerd

My first memory of the SRT101 was (at least my memory tells me!) that it used to be the advert on the back-cover of the National Geographic magazine from 1966, onwards...I only wish my memory was in as good shape as my camera!
I should put a roll through it, just for nostalgic purposes... ;)
But, oh boy, is it not heavy!!! :o

Andy,

My first SLR was a Zenit E, which was just about the heaviest 35mm camera I have ever had the misfortune to own.

It's only redeeming feature was that it was constructed in a similar manor to a T34 tank, and would probably stand up to knockiing in tent pegs.....and still work

I did come across one in an antique shop a few months back, still wonder if should have bought it for my next camping trip.......

My 1st camera that I bought was a Ricoh KR-5. Sold it to my brother. Missed it so much I got a Zenit XP-12.
Still have it & all the bits to go with it.

Only problem I had was the ISO speed selector came loose, got it fixed. Man you could stand on top of one of these SLRs, they will still be around when I'm gone.
