mushrooms!!!

During the weekend, I was doing a typical Czech&Slovak hobby - collecting mushrooms ;) It was also a great opportunity to try the GR under difficult lightning conditions. The GR turned out to be a great low-light performer. One doesn't really have to care about noise. Below shots are unmodified JPEGs, except the last one with my little helper. This one was converted from RAW using the in-camera development.

Very nice shots. Massive detail. Were these AF or MF? You seem to be getting on well with the GR. I recognize most of those types of funghi as being local to me too - how many of them are edible?

Lovely photographs. Thinking of the cameras from just few years ago, the high ISO quality is very impressive. Looking forward reading about your experience and impressions of the GR.

Thanks for you comments guys! All shots were taken with AF and as far as I remember, in new TAv mode. I quickly found this mode ingenious, especially in the low light conditions, where I want to preserve both shutter speed and aperture. And because of very nice high ISO output from GR, I don't really care about the used ISO value. I forgot to mention that I have the NR set to OFF. As in the previous GRD cameras, NR OFF means that there is still performed certain degree of NR. But in case of GR, it's mainly color (chroma) noise removal with reasonable degree of preserved details and luminance noise. I would like to see an option in NR settings to enable just the color noise removal and disable (or fine tune) the luminance noise removal. But it's probably just a wet dream? ;)

BTW, all mushrooms are edible. But some of them just once. Old but still good one :D I'm quite sure about the edibility of 2nd and 5th example. I'm not quite sure about the 4th mushroom as it's something I never saw before and I can't find any description of that mushroom. It's really weird kind of fungi. As for the red one with white spots (Amanita muscaria), it's definitely not edible. It's considered poisonous but it was (and probably still is) used by some shamans and medicine men for its hallucinogenic properties. In other words, it may not kill if taken in small amounts, but you will probably fly on it ;) In any case, it's a very photogenic kind of mushroom.
