Movie mode question

New Member
When recording a movie with the A12 M mount module, the lighting automatically adjusts.
So when somebody passes in front of the lens for example, the complete image will lighten up, trying to compensate for the dark part.
Is there any way to avoid this? I hope my "problem" is clear :)
Thanks!

Ydeh, I touched upon this question in my post GXR m filming. It looks as filming function is kind of amateurish add-on unworthy Ricoh. You dont get any clue what`s actually going on. You don`t see actual ISO in display, neither actual shutter speed. I guess that exposure control is by changing the electronic ( of course ) shutter speed and perhaps, when the light levels drop below 1/50 sec and max lens aperture then higher ISO kicks in too. Both things are completely no-no go in filming. The shutter speed should be constant 1/50 which means 24 f/sec. The exposure then is controlled by f stop and or Vari ND filters. Auto ISO would be even more against rules as a changing grain/noise pattern is impossible to correct in post.
The ideal solution as I wrote elsewhere would be a dedicated movie m-unit with APS-C HD sensor, 2K would mean bigger pixels with lower noise. Basic info in display as shutter speed, ISO, time , WB, sound level : all of the at the bottom black bar. Switchable 100 and 80 zebra and focus peaking would complete the perfect set-up.
One`s allowed to dream, isn`t one?

Sorry, a little mistake crept in when writing about film m-unit. It`s of course not APS-C HD, it`s just 2K HD sensor which would translate into something like 1" or Super-16 size. Preferably a crazy Aptina AR1411HS sensor that sits in consumer Nikon V2. A set of small cute manual lenses would be needed for wider angles as any of MFT, APS-C and FF lenses would work but with crop factor up to 2,7 . Just look at some fine 16mm Angenieux or Kern Switars to get the idea. Wow.
