It seems another Monochrome sensor is appearing. Check this news out - http://www.43rumors.com/suprise-true...th-global-shutter-and-monochrome-version-too/

Could this sensor fit in a GR Digital X with Mono only output? We could have a colour version also.
I'm not sure Ricoh could go m43 and stay with the current GR size though.
Also they are not part of the m43 group so it seems unlikely but you never know!

Perhaps with another sensor?

Tim,
Ya know this is a key issue you bring up. I admit to being totally satisfied with the GRD4 and not really wanring any upgrades. Of course, I'll take them but I'm happy.

Enter my friend Roger's M9's. I was able to shoot a few frames from the M9P and the M Mono. I have to say, I really would not be disappointed if Ricoh made a B&W model.
That may not be really financially a sound move but....if they bring out the GRD5 and make a conversion to the GRD4 to be B&W....

Now we're cooking with gas. The results from the M's were astounding. Just think if a real camera like the GRD4 had that ability.....

I read somewhere that these new sensors are being aimed at industrial customers, for things like CCTV.
