One for today....I think this is a conglomerate rock face but I'm sure Andy will correct me if I'm wrong.

You could well be right Richard! Which part of the forest were you in: I need CLUES! ;)

Here is a clue then....the EXIF data will give you the time difference between the shots...we were on a circular walk going clockwise. Should be easy for you and totally baffling for everyone else!

I will pretend not to be baffled and announce 'conglomerate' with a confident voice! :lol:
Well it is above the village of Kilmuir and as like as not near the Iron Age Fort, so...Old Red Standstone which have the boulder-bits from the foot-hills of the long-lost mountain range to the North, formed by the docking of Scotland and England. No sign of them drifting apart again despite the current political differences!

Andy,

Not allowed to embed any more quotes so following on from above, yes it is Ord Hill but not as high as the vitrified iron age fort. These rock faces look like mud with large stones in them.....next time you are here we can take a look.
