In fact the current four last in that series.

A bit of IRL fieldtesting
Fieldtest Macro with G600, 500SE and 300G http://forums.dpreview.com/...ms/readfl ... e=34892516
More normal pics in this lil fieldtest http://forums.dpreview.com/...ms/readfl ... e=35111981

And also digging out many of their strength and weak points.
I can say that while I like the 500SE in many ways I'm somewhat disappointed in the build quality of that zoom-lens which seems to be a fragile part. Having noticed atleast 3 other 500SE (from different sellers) on Ebay witnesses that it just wasn't for me and that everything is not as good as it should. The 500SE is pretty silent except for the AF.

Following is just a small summary of the findings. For these who are interested. The first thread I linked to cover it up much better. And it is likely that I'm going to add more info the more i finds out.

The noise that the G600 produces looks a little worse than for the other cameras, actually + slightly soft output, except for macro in which it stood up well I think. And the AF gets terribly slow in low light.
Another irritating thing is that when the flash is set to 10M. The camera automatically raises the iso to 1600 (I had set it to iso100 manually) without noticing about it. Actually, it is not even covered by the manual and can't have been added through a newer firmware. Simply because there have come no such yet.
I got a few unusable low light shots due that peculiarity. Luckily nothing really important though.

While the AF and zoom of the G600 is pretty darn silent. The buttons clicks a little too loud. All except the power and shutter button. Makes people sometimes notice it while I rather want them to act normally.

The comparison that I made btw the G600 and 400G which I've used a lot for almost a year is well worth reading I think. I've been thinking of writing a pretty long rapport about it with things I like and things from the 500SE and 400G which should be added / improved and then email it to Ricoh. I think that they are on the right trail with the small size of the G600 but some quirks needs to be ironed out.
The most silent overall is actually the 400G and it also beat the G600 to IQ.
Except for the purple-cast which sometimes can show up in the pictures and the large flare / rings which I've seen in some shots wiht the 500SE. I think it deliver the best IQ overall which noise that suits pretty well for B&W too.
Unfortunately, the noise of the G600 and 400G is not very suiting for nice B&W.

The 300G surprised me with smooth bokeh in some of the macro-pictures and also low levels of CA/ purple fringing in general.
Just a slight shame about the missing ADJ-button, loud AF and zoom, macro AF which often fails completely to lock on low contrast targets and the zoom which starts at 35mm.
I like it, the output and the formfactor pretty much otherwise.

Shaki, what can I say? Your work and info is priceless, thanks for that!

Altought this cameras are from a very specific league, which I don't think I'll in the near future, but thanks anyway ;-)
