Light Show

What better thing for a photographer than a light show?
We had a free light show put on as part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival a few weeks ago.

Here are a few of my GR handheld or sometimes braced on railings some captures of the lights flooded over major buildings in the city.
A lot of surreal creepy music was played to add to the atmosphere. It was a major undertaking I am sure.
This is just a sample there was a lot more to see.

We enjoyed the night and got some exercise.

An amazing sight, never seen something like this. You are blessed with steady hands....or at least a good technique for this type of exposure.

To make most of these images I used my empty paper coffee cup as a kind of tripod crushed a little to frame up or often just upright on the railings.
(on a side note, I read on a blog that the left side of the GR is flat so it can stand on a table or whatever)
I had my wrist strap on in case the camera fell but under no tension as to disturb it. Self timer and click.
I do have good success with hand holding but again using the 2 second self timer to trip the shutter then prepare for stillness.
Truth be told if you full pixel peep the original image there is a tad blurriness, scaling down for web hides a lot of it.

This image was of a 3D Elephant, difficult to capture on a 2D GR but you kind of get the sense of it.
Around the other side of the display was the back of the Elephant  :(
