Light field camera

Yep interesting technology for sure. But I think this is still pretty early and immature (certainly low resolution).

Let's see if the technology is able to catch on.

Definitely a very nice start! But in my opinion, it has a very long way to go. Current limited resolution and even the sharpness is not where I would like to see it. And the high chromatic aberration visible in many shots suggests not very good optical qualities or maybe a problem with microlenses array? In any case, it's a very good start and something many photographers would like to see in their cameras. Aside the obvious feature (capture now - focus later) this light-field technology would allow to create seamless and shallow DoF even for very small sensors with pretty tiny photo diodes. Something that is now impossible outside the macro/long-tele-at-short-distance or extensive photo editing. With light-field capture, it should be possible to seamlessly merge out of focus and focus photos to create nice and smooth out of focus rendering.
