Leica M6 TTL question

Okay, I don't know too much about Leica Cameras, but I'm trying to figure out what's the difference between the Leica M6TTL .85 and the Leica M6TTL .72 ?
what's the deal with .85 and .72? Anyone know anything about that....

Its to do with the viewfinder magnification. The 0.85 gives a larger apparent magnification than 0.72.
If you want more accurate focusing with a tele lens a 0.85 might be the way to go as the image appears apparently larger and the split image is easier to see.

Check the second post at this site for a sample image that helps explain it visually http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58983

There is also a 0.58 - this is more for wideangle use.
I understand any Leica rangefinder can be converted at the factory to either.

When I owned a MP it was a 0.72 which is middle ground. If you look at the front of the viewfinder window you normally can see a small engraving of the magnification to the bottom right - here is an example http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/co ... /index.htm
