A really wonderful photograph. Is the water in the foreground Laghetto di Piona just south of Colico with Domaso on the otherside of the lake? It looks very familiar to me.
Thanks everyone for your kind comments, much appreciated.
Spode,Thelps, yup the little PX can produce a decent shot given good light [and as long as you don't look too close -lol]
Wouter - I'm impressed sir...the photo was indeed taken near Colico, we were on a 'around the lake by road' tour & stopped in several location to view the lake.
Andy, what with house renovating, work & poor weather, I haven't been 'shutter pressing' for quite a while. Thankfully the house is 99% finished, the weather seems to have improved and I've found a bit more time to practice with my new toy [Ricoh PX]....now if I can just photograph something good enough to publish here....
David, welcome back. Quite a long time no input from you. Nice to see your photo work again.
The pano is perfectly made. I cannot find a track on the separate original shots. It does not feel like a stitched shot at all. Well done.
Great to see some more PX shots - it has to be the most portable Ricoh going.....these are really impressive (and this posted by someone who has one of these strange cameras and knows the challenges).
Given decent light [and a a max of iso 400] the PX can produce a decent photo, as long a you don't look too close! Not so sure about the hand-held night shot mode, I seem to get better shots in P mode.
Ok this was in Switzerland, but that's quite close to Como
This was taken onboard the Bernina express train, travelleing between Tirano & St Moritz, if I remember correctly, around Brenina Diavolezza, looking towards Piz Bernina.
Not quite sure why it came out so 'postcard' like, but it's quite good as a screensaver....
You make me so happy with your photographs. First the view towards Domaso (opposite of Colico) where I came for many, many years when I was young. And now the view of the Bernina (the mountain with the cloud seemingly attached to the west face) and the Morteratsch glacier. There is a small campground below in the valley overlooking the valley towards Pontresina close to the Morteratsch train station. For me that is one of the finest and best located campgrounds in the east of Switzerland.
Your Lago di Como photographs bring back a lot of fine memories of that region. Thank you Sir!
