I prefer the DNG shot!
he come more informations,quite rigthly,much more...
I prefer,but that is personal,i prefer all time more informations,dramatic effects wy not,y like also,but after,with a minimal lost
 
I tend to take both, when the camera allows. Some of the special modes like Bleach Bypass on the GRD are jpg only.
Sure you could do a BB on the RAW but sometimes we like the convenience and the file design that the manufacturer put in there.

Often for postcard prints the jpg is good enough - if I have nailed the exposure. I use the jpg out of camera for the print.
Any large prints I would tend to post process the RAW to extract the detail as you say.
Remember that jpgs are all 8 bit and the RAW from the GRD is 12 bit I think? (can someone confirm), so its also colour/BW depth you are gaining with the RAW not just detail IQ.
This is lost of course if you then output the processed RAW to jpg. Who prints from tiff or other?
