During the weekend of a business trip in Japan I had a small tour with my GRDIII to capture something for the memories...
I was based in Nagoya and with the Shinkansen train I reached Kyoto, the only one of the main cities that, as someone told me, has been not destroyed by the bombs during the II WW. So many beautiful temples to see!
On Sunday morning I had a tour in Nagoya and took some pictures of the City Castle, that has been partially rebuilt in the past and is still under rebuilding. I could see the work in progress, very interesting example of buildings completely made of wood.
Of course as soon as I was able to download the pictures on my iMac I thought of my friends on Ricohforum, so here it is a (small...) selection of what I could see...
All pictures taken with GRDIII (I don't know why there is no more the name of the camera in the Exif...) and ppd with Snapseed on iPad.

Don't like the framing - BUT:

This is an absolutely fantastic set and I almost can't believe that it is done with a small Sensor!!
Thank you very much for showing us these!

Best regards
Eckhard

Superset Gab. I especially like 'view from the gaden #2' and 'carps and boat' - both very tranquil.

Richard

Must be a beautiful place, and is definitely somewhere I would love to go one day. As someone else said, small sensor but really great photos - that of course leaves the photographer! Nice images indeed.

All, thank you. As always I'm very glad of your comments and that you like my pictures :D
Japan is a very nice place, I can confirm it...

Like Richard I like #2 and the last one as a pair. The others are also special and give, at least for me, a rare glimps of another land and culture. The castle is really spectacular, as are the formal gardens and plants.
Thanks for sharing Gab!

I've looked at this set a couple of times over the last few days and the portrait of the couple in costume is really one I like.
The colours of the foilage combined with the ladys dress and the expressions all add up to a classic for me.
The others are great but the portrait is a standout.

Again thank you for your nice comments!
@Nik: Wow! Thank you, you're too good...
@Tim: I confess you that this portrait is my favourite (with the first one)... The pose they have in the picture is somehow giving it an 'old' feeling...

Gab, frames may be (and usually are) disputable. Genster might know something about it. :) Nonetheless, I believe these fit the subject well and I like them, too.
The entire series is very nicely processed with great colours and details. My favourites are #6 (the couple) and the second to last panorama.
Thanks for posting.

Peter

Gab, these are an impressive cross section of types of beauty that for me, at least, are very unusual. People may be the same wherever you go, but they sure express themselves differently. You are a good observer.
