The Indian festival of lights, Deepavali, will be celebreated on Nov 5 in Malaysia...the traditional "kolam", a art of making coloful design using colored rice grains only, as a sign to bring prosperity to the household, is shown here in one of our biggest shopping complex..i was there to view a tall given by Mr David Hagerman, who was talking on his experience in photography and why he loves using the GRIII as his carry around companion at all times...

i understand that the kolam is traditionally done by ladies only and that the skill in in laying the rice grain all at one go without having to lift the hands from the floor at any time!!...How long? i dont know but i salute them in doing it.. :D

Will the rice end on plates like a part of a tasty colourful meal in the end? Naturally, in case the paints are edible.
