Ive just joined yesterday.
Got my GRIII a couple of weeks ago and I am really enjoying using it and the image quality is very good.
Now about myself.
My dad got me into photography when I was 11 or 12 years old as he had always been an amateur photographer.
I started a darkroom in my secondary school and got an O level 1 pass in photography combined with art exam (the first time that the school had done this).how
After I left school I started working for a local photographer starting off in the darkroom preparing and mixing the chemicals, film developing and printing. Then after a few months I started taking photographs for the business mainly doing industrial and commercial photography and the odd wedding when help was needed.
After a while I also got the job of photographing music gigs for the local paper which was such a joy as I went to music gigs a lot especially locally as the local venue attracted top billing bands and singers during that time period.
I then worked in photo retail with a bit of freelancing. After that I decided that I wanted a complete change so I trained and became a train guard on the railway which I enjoyed for over 20 years and done photography for my own enjoyment and pleasure.
I have been a Nikon user from day one, the only exception being Fujifilm mirrorless while I waited for Nikon to do a mirrorless camera that I liked which they did (the Zf) so now I use that camera.
I am retired now and enjoying using my Nikon even more as I have time to do it now, however I didn't always want to carry a full frame camera with me so I looked for something compact but with good image quality. It didn't take long to see how highly rated the GR series cameras were so I decided on the GRIII and I am very pleased with it. Now I can have a camera with me every day that is capable of great images. So that's my potted history.
