Hi,

My name is Phil, I'm English but I have been living in Portugal since 1978.

I was pointed to this forum by another member, Rui Fernandes. He is also to blame for me getting onto the GX200 which I was in the process of buying when the news of something new on the horizon popped up. Let's see what they come up with.

Hi Phil and welcome on board! There is definitely something new coming, but I think that there will still be room for GX kind of camera even after the announcement of something with large sensor and interchangeable lenses. Small sensors can still do things that are hard/expensive to do with large sensors (Macro or for example candid photography, where you don't wish to be noticed due to large body/lens or if there is no time for precise focusing).

So I assume, you are in the waiting mode now? So enjoy reading the forum and count the days until the announcement!

Welcome on board! I'ts great to find Portuguese Ricoh user's here, but it's fantastic when they are praticaly neighbours :-D
When you find the best price for your GX, send me a PM, please, because I'll try to get some accessories by Christmas...

It seems that our town is turning a reference for Ricoh in Portugal, so far we are 6, that I know :mrgreen:

Maybe we can start thinking about a Ricoh meet up here? :lol:

BTW, I started a new strategy with FNAC. Anytime I go there I check the camera's display and ask for a Ricoh. Of course they don't have it... what? What kind of a photography business you run if you don't have a Ricoh?

Portuguese? Bife old boy. Could be Bife-a-Portuguesa, but still a Bife before Tuga :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Sure thing about letting you know where I finally buy it and for how much. With some luck the prices might drop a bit when the new one pops onto the market, should be interesting.

Good idea about a meeting, especially if it were to be made into an outing/lunch sort of thing.
