Hello from the SF Bay Area!

I've got a white GRD 4 on the way and I can't wait to see how this camera will turn out!

I currently use a Nikon D300 and shoot mostly architecture, and thought it was time to get a compact camera and also want to get into street photography. I tried it with the D300, but that sucker gets heavy!

Hi Samerai

Welcome.

I have been thinking about the DRV white version;. it seems a lot cheaper
then the normal black.

Would like to hear your thoughts when it arrvies.

Hey David, thanks for the hello!

The lower price and color prompted me to get one

Hi and welcome samuraishot, as a long time GRD user they are a worthwhile experience. Give it some time and think of the 28 only as liberating. No more zooming!

Hi thelps! I used a 50mm (75mm on the cropped sensor) for almost 3 years and got so used to it, so I'm hoping I'll adjust quickly to the world through 28mm.

Woohoo! It's here - too bad I gotta charge the battery first though

It's okay, it gives me time to read the manual!

Congratulations on your new arrival :D
Reading the manual is something I must do, I find I always pick up one snippet of info that I missed.

Re: Hello from the SF Bay Area!

Welcome from a fellow GRD4 user - any questions just fire away.....it's taken me 6 months to work out my ideal set-up (until I change my mind again).
