Hello everyone. I'm a GRDIII user and (like Gyl) also sometimes lug around a Pentax SLR (a K20D). I love my little Ricoh, and assumed others might too. So, here I am.
I'm a Canadian ex-pat from Toronto. My parents are Dutch immigrants, and I now live in Pennsylvania and teach landscape architecture (urban and ecological design) at a nearby university. I also do research in Ghana, north India and Nepal having to do with community-based adaptation to climate change. And I work with students doing participatory community development in the inner city. It's a stretch.
I look forward to learning about the GRDIII as a street camera. In return, maybe I can share some recent tests I've done using the Ricoh for aerial photographs of landscapes and natural habitats. Also, I've found the GRDIII is great for nonchalant snapshotting in traditional villages where bulkier equipment is frowned upon.
best,
Ken
