Hello to all the forum members.
I have just bought my 1st digital Ricoh cameras, the GX200 & G600. I had, a Ricoh SLR as a young adult.
But that was so long ago. I have a habit of taking up a hobby, dropping it & then embracing it again.... Bit like my surfing.
I have had other digital cameras. Nothing special, just Kodak EasyShares.
Spying some Timelapse video on YouTube. I researched it & found that some of the best cameras were RICOHs.
Most people i know use Canon, Nikon & Kodak. I'm not like everyone though.
My intrests are Night, Landscape, Macro & soon to be, Timelapse Photography.
I've been learking on this forum for a month. So now I have my cameras, it was time to join your friendly team.
This forum is as far as I've searched the place for Ricoh expertise with a comman intrest in photography.
I hope to round my skills and enjoyment for photography & art with your help & understanding.

Now, to work out what all these settings & buttons do.... :)

Hello 33dollars and welcome here! Nice to see another Aussie here! ;) I hope you will post some G600 photos and comments because there are not much of them amongst the RicohForum folks. So I think people would gladly see some pics from G600? And don't forget to join our monthly contests!

Feel free to ask any question you may have, although there are not many G600 experts around us ;) Enjoy the forum!

Yes Welcome 33dollars, I'm interested in seeing what you shoot. I did some late night stuff years ago with my Nikkormat and a 'Blad but your post sparks some interest in doing some really long stuff again.

Hi 33dollars,

Welcome to a friendly little corner of the photo world.
Many of the Ricoh's are great for timelapse as they have quite a range of time periods to choose from.

PS: I am from Adelaide too :D

Thankyou for the warm welcome odklizec. This is your board. I plan to upload a pic or 2 soon.

BillBibham2: I'm a bit of a night owl so night photography is one of the things I try to master.
The G600 is limlted to an 8 second exposure. So I beleave Dawn & Dusk is the go. As for late night, it will
have to be very well lite or flash assisted. Not like the days of 30+ exposures on BULB.

thelps: My research into timelapse led me back to the Ricoh's.
With any luck you should be able to spot my WHAT IS IT? pictures when posted.
As a fellow crow eater.

I havent touched the GX200 much. But have been playing around with the G600 @ home & work

Hi 33Dollars, I would indeed love to see some images from the G600. I have the terrible habit of taking my GX100 out in the rain and have recently toyed with the idea of buying a G600 for 'special' adventures! ;)

Thats nothing.
Try explaining what a showdown is :?:

It"s all part of being a crow eater.. :)
Croweater was easy. But what's the showdown? ;) It seems to be something sport related. But I'm not quite sure about urbandictionary (no 3) definition. I think it's something generally related to sport and gambling?

It also might be easy. "Showdown is a JavaScript port of the original Perl version of Markdown," says one of googling results. However, I am afraid it has been meant to be something totally different. :)

Peter

PS: Having done some more googling, my favourite answer tipped to be the right one is given here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Showdown_(AFL)

Everything is on the Web, Tim. ;) It seems it's true. The only issue is to pick the right possibility. :)

Peter
