Hello from Austin

Hi..just wanted to introduce myself. I am Michael from Wimberley,TX (just outside Austin in the Tx hill country). Recently purchased a GRD III after having a Leica D-Lux 4. I like the Ricoh much better although I am not a big fan of the manual focus approach...but I guess you can't have everything.

Hi Michael and welcome on board! I'm not sure I understand what you mean with the "manual focus approach"? Of course, you can use Auto focus with GRDIII! Maybe you accidentally switch your GRDIII to Snap or Manual focus mode? There are couple of focus modes in GRDIII and for novice it may be easy to get lost in all settings GRDIII offers. But don't worry! GRDIII menu system is very logical and easy to use despite the number of settings and advanced features! Don't hesitate to ask if you need some help with GRDIII.
