Hello from a new GX200 user

Greetings!

I'm just a newbie in photography and just got my first camera, GX200 last week.
Before this i was using my cellphone as my camera.
Although there's nothing much that i can shoot using a cellphone's camera,
but it helped a lot in developing my photography skills, especially in composition.
GX200 is really a great camera although it can't be compared to DSLRs.
I love it for its size and its capability to shoot beautiful macros and landscape pictures.

I'm really looking forward to learn more about photography from you guys since there's always more to learn in photography.
Hope to get comments and critiques from you guys too.

Welcome Timothy. Don't feel bad about using a cell phone for photos. It's the image that counts.
There are many fine shooters here that will be glad to help you along. By the way, I'm sure there are some cellphone-ographers that may want some of your ideas.
So, make your way through things and don't be afraid to ask questions.

BTW, I checked out your curly image. It's obvious your a Bokeh-ist. I've seen him around but can't keep him in focus....

Hi Timothy,
I hope you really enjoy your new camera. Don't worry about the equipment after all it's the image that counts. You will read lots about noise, grain, resolution etc etc really it's all codswallop. The only time to buy a different camera is when you are really certain that the one you have is stopping you being creative. Looking at the pictures on this forum taken with the Ricoh GX200 that shouldn't be a problem. Bill.

Hi Timothy and welcome here! I hope you will enjoy the GX200 despite of its slightly noisier output Your first photo entry is definitely good one! Please keep them coming. And don't worry about taking photos with the phone. People seem underestimate these multifunctional devices. I currently shoot most of my photos and mainly videos with the phone. Simply because it's still in my pocket and I can immediatelly share the photos via email. (even this post I type on the phone)
