Hitherto, I have been a Nikon, Fuji and Olympus acolyte, but have finally come to the Ricoh GR, having concluded that it is the only truly pocketable (EDC) camera that offers superior image quality. I would have come here sooner, only the bad press these cameras receive concerning sensor dust have kept me away until now. It may yet turn up to make me rue my decision to buy the camera anyway.
I have just taken delivery of a pre-owned and over priced GR (the original APC-S 2013 version). Initial thoughts are that it is in excellent condition, and the sensor appears to be free of dust. So far, so good. Not having used any Ricoh cameras before, there is going to be a learning curve, but I'm looking forward to it, and I will inevitably be looking to this forum for answers to issues that are stumping me.

For reference, I am mainly a landscape and architecture photographer, for which I have a Fuji X-T2, although I'm sure the GR will ably step in if necessary. Its primary purpose is as an EDC, and I expect it will be shooting anything and everything!

Hi Dick,

Welcome to GRUF

only the bad press these cameras receive concerning sensor dust have kept me away until now.

This "dust problem" is exaggerated in some forums. I never had dust problems, but I also treat all my cameras well.

The GR1/2 with its 16MP APS-C sensor is already very good. Compared to your XT2 you should be happy with it.
