GXR body discontinued?

Can anybody make sense of it?
Looks like GXR body is discontinued and so are the different kits versions with it but all the other lensors and m-unit are not marked discontinued. Let`s hope it means Ricoh is coming with a new body keeping the rest alive.

Hm, it IS confusing, is it not...I fear that what it really means that it is all been dispatched to the metaphoric graveyard to rest in peace amongst its ancestors...
Would be at the front of the queue for that new body mind!

In an interview with AmateurPhotographer at CES, Ricoh Imaging UK managing director Jonathan Martin said GXR sales have been discontinued in the UK and, as far as he knows, production has stopped altogether.

Without being too optimistic, the reality is that the common link of the announced discontinued product is really the body. The lensors alone have non been tagged with the "discontinued" feared word.

If we remember the announcement that reflex bodies where going to be Pentax branded (has happened), that the compact bodies would continue as Ricoh (thing that we have just seen with the new WG series) and that the middle "hybrid" link was going to be Ricoh (probably this hybrid middle area is the EVIL area including the follower of the K-01 and the GXR lensor concept), it should be more than possible that we can expect a GXR II body on which the actual lensors should be retrofitable (thus not discontinued)... :?: :roll: :?:

...having said this, again, we should not be too optimistic... Dissatisfactions are equal to expectations minus reality, so we should keep expectations low in order to keep dissatisfactions under control... :lol:
