GXR A12-M + Zuiko OM 50mm Macro setup

Just for fun I thought I'd see if my old Zuiko 50mm f1,8 might be able to serve as a macro lens. I have the complete set of OM extension tubes, but decided to use only the 25mm with this setup. To stabilize everything, the rig was on a tripod, and I used a tripod collar purchased on eBay ($7 USD) clamped around my COMA OM to M lens adapter. In the first two images you can see the setup. The third was taken with the A12-M in "A". Lighting was window light with no fill. Lens aperture f8. ISO 400. Exposure time 1 second. Focus assist used. CA-1 used to minimize vibration. All images here are from jpg files. No sharpening was added to the actual macro image.

I also dragged out my old Olympus Macro Twin Flash, but a piece needed to be re-glued so it'll be a few hours before I can try it. Stayed tuned. I'll post the results later. :D

The glue repair held so here's the Macro Twin version. Note that over to the left in the first image is a small, black squarish Quantum Battery which is powering the "modeling" lights in the twin flash units, which enhance manual focusing. This is the reason they are white (switched on). The second image is the "subject POV". The last is the one taken by the GXR with the macro flash providing the light. This time: ISO 200, shutter speed 1/125, aperture f16. Even at its lowest setting, the flash was too powerful to use a wider aperture. Focus assist used. Again, this is the jpg out of the GXR which did not receive focus enhancement. Of course, there is no TTL control of the flash--strictly manual. I know it looks very "Rube Goldberg-ish" but it works well.
