And who said the small sensor cameras cannot be used for sport photography? Of course, it's not useful for professional work! 
But if you are willing to process the DNG and you are lucky with framing and pressing the shutter at the right moment, you can get some very nice pictures.
This one is treated with "fake" high dynamic range process (using the Dynamic Photo HDR) to enhance the sprayed snow.
