GRIII random shutdown problem solved

my GRIIIx was often cutting out and locking and would need restarting.

It seems there is an issue with the spring inside the camera which allows the battery to lose connection when the camera is moved or the battery door touched.

I put a small piece of folded paper between the battery and the battery door and this solves the problem. This seems to stop the battery moving and losing connection.

Originally I thought this was a battery problem but it was happening with Ricoh and 3rd party batteries.

So if your GRIII has a similar problem take note

Also works, a small square of gaffer tape (3 layers worked for me) on the end of the battery as a spacer between the battery and the door
just enough to stop the battery wiggling about
