Nothing special; I was just born to own a ricoh. Just like everyone else. teehee.
Im new to everything and was simply inlove with the retractable lens cap on the gx200. I know what you people might think, "ew, he's just infatuated." And yes, I can't deny that, but I've grown to love ricoh after much consideration. WOOHOO

In the end, I decided to grab the ricoh grd3 and Im planning to get the black cv 28mm VF on it. I chose grd3 because I am on vacation and needed somethign pocketable to shoot whenever I liked. I considered the nikon d5000 for a long while but it seemed I can get that anywhere, but the same cannot be said about the ricoh. I suppose if I did get teh d5000 i think it would of hinder my liking for photography for it is too heavy to carry around and a litte obtrusive to use it to shoot street. The salesperson pressed on as he pushed me towards the GRX but my integrity stayed firm and I chose the GRD3.

Im loving every shot I take with teh GR3, I wanted something I can grow into and it seems I found it in ricoh. But I still might consider getting a nikon d90 after, but when I can afford it. lol I am a student, afterall.

Hi sisisisi and welcome on the board! I can see why you were so attracted with GX200 retractable lens cap. It's so simple but ingenious solution that is surprising nobody came with this before? Many non-Ricoh users buy these lens caps and adapt them for their cameras (DP1, LX3,...). The only thing that might concern you is that you may find yourself using D5000 less and less ;) Enjoy your new camera and this forum! ;) Don't forget to post some photos in our galleries or post a link to your online gallery, if you have one.

I too love the retractable lens cap. So many times I got the "Remove lens cap" :oops: warning on my GX200.
I went & got a retractable lens cap. But when I got my GX100, I made sure it had one too.
Lugging around camera equipment is a pain sometimes. Even when I cram four cameras & lenses into a bag. ;)

:shock: hmm, I did that this Saturday and thought I would have been the only person who did such a thing, I feel a lot better now, thanks.
As it was I ended up using one camera only anyhow! :lol:
