I found this thread very interesting: viewtopic.php?f=66&t=10553
Don & John were both advocating a combination of snap, manual aperture & shutter speed & auto ISO. While I'd used 2 out of 3 together before the idea of setting focal distance (snap), hyperfocal DOF (aperture) with an appropriate shutter speed for the subject then allowing auto ISO to sort out the exposure was not an idea that had occurred to me.
It's a bit dull here today but I gave the combination a try on the beach dog walk and the auto ISO seemed to be coping. Is this a TAv mode by another name? If so is the GRD4 superior vto the GR in its execution of the mode because you can limit the ISO with the GRD4 (I've set ISO 800)?
