GRD III Aperture Priority bug?

I apologise if this has been discussed before and I am not sure if this is a bug but I think I have found something which seems peculiar to me in the operation of the Aperture Priority mode of the GRD III.

What led me to this is my occasional use of Aperture Priority - I come from an Olympus OM4 and used Aperture Priority nearly exclusively on that camera, I often fall back to 'the old ways'. The second part is that I often only remember how to use these modes by parrot learning, doing it over and over, hence I often stab at buttons to see what they do rather than consult the manual and learn.

The possible bug --
If you move from P (Program) to A (Aperture Priority) modes you can then use the front wheel to control Aperture - this works fine on my GRD III. However, If you move from P to A and move the Exposure compensation up/down using the rear thumb buttons first then move to the front dial it contiunes to move the Exposure Compensation up/down rather than the Aperture. The only way I could find to make the front wheel do Aperture is to move back to P, then A again.

If you have time to check your GRD III I'd be keen to hear if yours responds the same. Just move to A mode, press the rear Up/down thumb buttons and the see if the front wheel continues to 'do Exp Compensation' ??

IF this is a bug, its a minor minor, tedious bug, and in no way affects my love for the GRD. Someone very familiar with the GRD III operation would never find it - so I partly blame the operator - me! There is also the possibility to use Program shift in P mode so moving to A mode may not be necessary even.

BTW: I am on Firmware Version - v2.00
Note: the rear thumb buttons are mentioned on Page 3 of the manual, buttons 6 & 7.

Hi Tim,

I think this is not a bug. In fact, it's most probably a design and It works like that in any mode (except M mode). The thing is that once you start the Exposure Compensation mode, the camera stays in this mode until you press the OK button. I guess it's like that for purpose to make the change of exposure compensation faster. Instead of clicking the rear thumb button, to change the exposure compensation, you can use front scroll wheel. In this way you can quickly scroll the EV compensation value. Hope this helps?

I guess I see it as a bug because why would you need two Exposure Compensation controls? - the rear buttons and the wheel change Compensation once this occurs. Also there is no way to change Aperture in A mode once both controls are doing Exposure Compensation - give it a try and see if you can get the wheel back into Aperture changing mode again - I could not find a way?!

Press OK to exit from the Exposure Compensation mode. And then you should again be able to change the aperture.

I can confirm this for me also, thank you Pavel for finding that. It seems its not a bug but more that its not my expectation of the way it would work - now I must apply to my memory! :D
