GR IV Monochrome RAW converter - what are you using?

Hi all, I've just started shooting with the GR IV Monochrome and am finding Capture One's rendition of the DNG files disappointing — the tonal rendering feels flat and uninspiring, and I'm not convinced it's doing justice to what the sensor is capable of. It also adds a glow.
Curious what RAW converters others are using with this camera. I tried Iridient Developer and the quality is amazing compared to capture. Details, microcontrast and tonal rendering are superb. I stopped using Lightroom a while ago, but would love to hear from anyone who has experimented with Darktable, or anything else, or even capture one.

Currently, I am using GIMP. Seems to work well.

However, I have a higher level question.
What is the difference in the results when a JPG and a DNG is modified using software ?

Editing a jpeg you will have a lot less scope to change anything. You will only change brightness saturation or tint a relatively small amount. Whereas with a raw file like DNG you will have a lot more information in the file and therefore you can affect greater change to your photographs.

I'm using ON1 which is OK. Darktable (which is open source and free) is also incredibly powerful but at the same time even more incredibly complicated.

Without a shadow of a doubt imo DXO is the best raw converter around and their DeepPRIME NR is nothing short of miraculous. But of course it does not support any monochrome sensors. I had not realised this before I bought the GR IV Monochrome. Had I done so my Monochrome Vs colour GR IV purchase decision might have been even more vexing. The DXO output of colour images from my Leica Q2 is remarkable.

I am using Lightroom, and I use the profiles GR4 included; I am very satisfied

I use Darktable. IMO the files from the GR4mono are so good that very little processing is needed and I typically use only a few modules (lens correct, rotate, crop, AgX). Sometimes a little dodge&burn using masks in multiple instantiations of the exposure module. The GR4mono and this simple workflow in Darktable gets me very close to how uncomplicated and fun it was to work in an analogue darkroom.
