(Other than being stuck at ISO=80 to achieve good signal/noise ratio), no Panasonic I have owned takes JPGs like my DMC-FZ30 did.
8 Mpixels on a 1/1.8 Inch image-sensor, Venus II Engine, fine optics, focusing, and ergonomics. They should not have "broken the mold." ... :P

But they should have used the FZ-50's (other) improvements, and added a 3.0 Inch HQ (articulated) LCD display, and a quieter image-sensor, etc ...

Some fine day when a newer release of RAW Therapee comes out that doesn't crash on my WinXP Pro SP3 system, and/or I can make peace with Silkypix DS 3.021 SE, my current DMC-FZ50 will allow me to come closer (up to ISO=200 in "raw) to what the DMC-FZ30 often beautifully crafted in-camera (with some, but not necessarily a lot, of post-processing being necessary) ... :P

I love these rich red's, very vivid colour & detail.

Can't wait for spring to be able to photograph a few of my own :)
