Hello,
This is my first post here and yesterday was my first time using my new GR. Thought I'd share a few shots and my some quick thoughts on this great little camera...
I'm selling my Olympus Pen EP-5 and prime lenses to fund the GR and having taken it out for a quick spin I've got no regrets so far. The EP-5 is a nice camera, but I was getting sick of changing lenses and lugging around a kit bag. IQ on the GR has the edge thanks to the bigger sensor and of course it fits in my pocket. Before I had a Fuji X100, another lovely camera. Hard to choose between IQ of that and the GR. The Fuji turned a lot of heads, with people commenting on what a beautiful camera it was and asking if it was film. At first I thought this was a good thing, a conversation starter, now I don't regard it as such a positive when I just want to sneak around taking shots. The GR is more stealthy.
What surprised me yesterday was how much I enjoyed taking shots without a viewfinder. I've got the GV-2 on order, but I can now see how I might not even use it. Before getting the GR I couldn't imagine taking photos without a viewfinder, now I see things differently. Sure, there will be situations where the viewfinder comes in handy, but will I use it all the time? We'll see.
Thanks.
