Firmware update problem

Hi all,

I have a problem with the GR II firmware update.

When (in SCENE mode with power off) I press the Macro button and the playback button. What happens is that the camera power turns on, but no firmware version is displayed - it is just like a normal power on, trying to access the SD card. Same thing happens if I try to load new firmware from SD card with new firmware files (MODE button and Playback). I get a "no file" message, but the new firmware is nok loaded, as far as I can tell (can´t display the firmvare version

Might be a camera malfuntion, it has a tendency to start in video modus regardless of mode dial setting?

Hi MoDahl,

Make sure you press first Macro button, hold it and then press Play button and hold both buttons pressed for a second or two. If the mode dial is really set to Scene mode, you should get the FW version list. If you first pres Play or you release the Macro button before pressing Play, the camera will most probably only turn to Playback mode.
