Cheers, as I recall it was a very bright sunlit day and this tree was in shadow but there was lots of light, so it was ideal conditions.
I had a bit of setup error, this was taken in one of the MY setting modes I had setup but forgot to include the RAW file in this MY mode so I have jpg only.
The full size jpg has more detail than this scaled version!

No fill in used, except perhaps some reflection from my shirt?
No tweaks in software all out of camera jpg

I love this shot! Definitely good choice shooting it in B & W

Good repetition Tim! I think the choice of B&W definitely helped this photo. It made it much easier to read.
