Erratic griv

I bought a griv just before Christmas and haven’t had much chance to use it. On the few times I have used it it doesn’t always behave as expected. In A or S modes it acts as though it’s in P. When I want to select a focus point it goes into Snap. I turn it off & on, take out the battery makes no difference. Then oddly everything works as expected. It doesn’t happen every time.
Anyone else have this?
I’ve previously owned 3 griii’s and a griiix and sold them all because of odd quirks. Maybe I just need to love it!
