Easiest focus setting for a kitten

Hi! Thanks for this interesting forum, hopefully you‘ve got some answers for me . In the last weeks I‘ve got a new GR IIIx and a 2-3 month old kitten. Both is challenging for me, but of course in different ways. Taking pictures of the kitten while its sleeping, is kind of easy. An active, running, jumping kitten is more difficult. How do I set up my GR best for this? What are your experiences and best practises?
