Marcus, I hope you are either, on a boat, or low down on the edge of a pool and are not in the water dog paddling like mad
Amazing action image, Nice and tack sharp on the arm. In this case I think Manual focus was worked so much better than AF could have.
Tim, I was indeed on the edge of the pool...he was the one doing all the paddling thank goodness!
And yes, I wouldn't even attempt this shot with AF, especially with such a shallow DOF, and the subject constantly moving away from me....beautifully sharp lens the 1.4, even wide open....thanks for the comment BTW..
Thanks Quester. It was 'cool' indeed on this chilly winter morn!. I'm not one for cold, wet water so was glad to be on the outside of the pool shooting from a dry vantage point - see photo attached.
As for a WR GR, I can certainly see a niche for it. I use the PX often and am impressed by it's abilities, the small sensor enabling vast DOF at most apertures: an APSC WR GR being a different kettle of fish altogether!..... Would I buy one over a GR?.....probably yes...I like shooting in the rain, and this is when I use the PX the most..Haven't been tempted to purchase a GR yet. I have the first GRD, the GXR with all modules except the 50mm, and a GX200, so not short of Ricoh's!
Have also attached a shot taken recently with the PX....
