Dust on the sensor

Has anyone ever sent his Ricoh GR for sensor cleaning? How much do they charge if it s not covered by the warranty? Thanks.

i can't imagine how your Ricoh GR can have dust on its sensor considering that the lens was fixed to the body. care to enumerate any possible scenario why dust can make its way into the GR's sensor?

As the lens extends / retracts, there is the slight possibility that some dust can be drawn into the body on retraction and in turn find it's way onto the sensor.

Sometimes this will fall off when the sensor is not charged but there is the chance that it could remain and will involve camera stripping to remove it.

I have read of others who have dust on their GR sensors but it is minor ( I did have a piece on mine for a few days then it dissapeared), it is easy enough to correct in editing software though but for a £500 camera with fixed lens there should be better dust prevention.

Great camera though.
