Do you use GV-1 Viewfinder?

I'm just about to update my faithful GR Digital to a GR and wondering whether to go for a GV-1. SRS have a package where the GV-1 is included for only £50. This seems like a good deal but a waste of £50 if it isn't useful. What do you think? I'm sure there are plenty of different experiences out there for me to pick my way through :)

I have a GV-2 on my GRD4. I don't use it a lot but it can be useful in bright sunlight when it's difficult to see the screen. I've had a GV-1 too and it is a very bright view finder but it is quite large - somewhere on this site there are some comparisons.

I also use the GV-2. It's very useful in bright sunlight as already mentioned. It feels natural to bring the camera up to your eye, compose and shoot. I'd prefer it to the LCD screen any day.

Great deal at that price too!

I have the voigtlander 28mm finder that should be similar to the gv-1 and i don't like it a lot, so i end up to use only the lcd, this is my opinion anyway

I am much the same as the others here. Mine tends to go in my bag, only coming out if needed.

I will use this thread to lament on the lack of a center focus mark (a crosshair + or perhaps [ ] ) on all these OVFs.
I often use a focus lock with partial depress but the lack of a center means its very hard to guess where that point is.
There is a LED to near the eye to show when lock is achieved so all thats missing is the mark.
