Do not install the latest Ricoh GR III and GR IIIx firmware updates

Details of the problem
For setting items in “Memory” of “Customize Controls” that have been deselected, their setting values registered to the User Mode (“U1”, “U2”, “U3” and User Mode Box 1 to 6) revert to the default values.

For users who have already installed the above firmware versions
For users who have registered settings to the User Mode, please use the User Mode with all the checkboxes in “Memory” selected.
Downloading of the firmware will be temporarily suspended until the fixed version is released.
We will inform you as soon as the fixed version is ready.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and ask for your kind understanding.

In the meantime can you post the latest
Firmware on the GR3iiix. I am having
difficulty finding a link to this file.

Ricoh still does not allow the download of 1.30, so the problem still exist and no new FW is available. The download section still shows version 1.30 for the GR3x firmware, but if you want to download it, there is a message in red and a link below the download button:

Maybe it takes more time because of the holida season. I have to ask my contact at Pentax next week...

Can you also provide a link to the previous
firmware on the GR3iiix that does not have
the error?

Looking forward on the status of the resolved new
firmware once it is released.

I do not have any other link. I do not think that Ricoh offers the old firmware on its website.

Do not worry. With the firmware updates only small issues are fixed. The camera will work good enough also with very old firmware.

But maybe a member has still an old download of the older FW on his PC?

If yes, please upload it here as a zip file.
 
OK…That’s good to know. I still have not been able to download the current Version which
I think is v1.3 [ It comes up that the file has been
stopped- because of the Error]
 
Thanks for the link- but when I try to download the file it refuses to work. It takes me to a
page but the “red” button is greyed out with
the red text explaining the problem

Because it's unavailable at the moment. There will be a new version soon. That you'll be able to download from that link. You just need some patiece.

No big deal.

The new firmware for the Ricoh GR3 and Ricoh GR3x is as member Genster mentioned now available and ready for download. Please follow the link to all firmware uploads I posted earlier in this thread.

The bug in the old FW was only affecting the individual user settings U1-U3. If you never used U1-U3, you will not have been affected by the old bug and even did not realize it. Therefore no big deal.
