Disassembly instructions/ photos - can anyone help ?

Hi

Can any member help sending me instructions/ photos as to how to disassemble A12 50mm /f2.5 APSC lens please ?

I need to get to the IR cut filter in order to remove it, so that I could experiment using IR filters on the filter thread outside of the lens, for IR Photography. This will help me not to make any drastic errors along the way for this conversion !

Hi Pavel

Thanks for your prompt reply. I have already done successful IR conversion on S10. Now I would like to try A12 50mm as this one has a larger sensor. In theory should give a better resolution on the results.

I will wait for a bit, if some other members have any further inputs, if not, I am determined to go ahead and have a go soon !

may be that the GXR -M module would be more appropriate and safer about your project?
the IR filter is more accessible, and you are less likely to have to give up everything , with an optical become unusable?

Thanks for your input. Do you have an access any steps/ instructions or photos to show how you disassemble GXR-M module? This project, however, is also in the pipeline.

Hi Guys !

Thanks to Pavel and Autochrome and all others who have read my post.

It was only a matter of time. I was determined to go ahead with the conversion on A12 50mm macro unit, partly because no one has ever gone on this path. Guess what, I have done it. Apart from occasional hot spot, I have no other issues after conversion. The results in my opinion are of some quality.....I will leave that part for you guys to judge !
