Desktop Backgrounds For The Computer

Here are some pictures I've taken that I think make good desktop backrounds for the computer. The only picture I did not take is the first one, which was originally a largish drop of water in the bottom of a steel kitchen sink. It was taken by my fiance, who then told me to "do what you want with it" (this was back when I had just started becoming interested in photography last year). So after a long time fiddling around with it in Picasa and Paint.net, I managed to bring out some wonderful colour in it, and I added some other effects. There was only room for ten pictures in this post, so I have included another post with four more pictures as a continuation of this one. Thanks for looking .

Athena, this is a really great idea and very generous of you to post them for use.
I like the last one with the large leaves, however I generally find the paler parts of the image are best for picking out icons on desktops.
The River scene while nice would not work so well for me.

Thanks Tim! Yes, the leaves work quite well, but it depends on what setup you have on your desktop as to how well each of the pictures work. They all worked on my laptop screen, and it's rather difficult for me to find pictures that do work well or look good on my screen. So I figured if they can look good on my laptop, it's likely they will look good on a variety of other screens. However, the way people set up their icons, etc., will mean that some pictures will work better that others, while some may not work well at all.

I do not know, whether the first photo would work good as a desktop wallpaper, but it is a perfect piece of abstract art.
