The last of this years primroses caught in the evening light.

Nice to be out in such evenings, but I seem to be collecting ticks much earlier than usual this year...two already and it is not yet May! :(
Tried some clove oil on them which seems to work a treat! :D Stinks though... :?
Cheers!
Andy

Good catch Andy. These ticks are very nasty things and Spring makes them very hungry for fresh blood. Take care of yourself!

I do not understand what you're saying about the clove oil, but I like the photo :D

 It's about the ticks...

I've heard that every year there are more and more ticks are infected with Lyme, so be careful !

I know Genster. Thanks!
I will keep a close eye on the growing red lumps...though I am hyper-sensitive to these sort of things, so 'normal' red lumps are...well...normal for me at least!
I think my record stands at 32 ticks in one day...so not even close to that yet! It seems that when walking in a group, they always choose me...which makes me a popular man to walk with, as you could imagine! ;)
Hm...

I am lost at what you all are discussing about the ticks and its danger.
I can't identity the "ticks" in the picture. I see white flowers and a pinkish
object at the top of the picture. Am I too ignorance, therefore I'm blind? :D

Forward,
I don't think that you can see any ticks in this picture. Ticks are small spider-like creatures which like to suck blood. They climb up the grass and ferns and wait for an animal to walk by and they jump...you do not often see them until they have pierced the skin and are already sucking away. At this point they are quite visible! Getting them out is the next problem, as if you simply pull, the head can come off and the wound may become infected. I used clove-oil as an experiment, to see if this would confuse them enough to let me pull them gently out with there head still attached to the body. Seems to have worked so far! ;)
The like some animals, and not others. Seems I am one of their biggest fans...
Sorry to confuse...!
All the best,
Andy
